Rent Increase causes dues increase

With higher utilities and repair costs, the lodge rent at the temple was increased for the first time in three years. As to the By-Laws of Further Light Lodge #1130 Article #7-Section #2 “Every member shall pay the sum of Twenty Dollars ($20.00), the rent currently in effect by the Scottish Rite Valley of Danville and the per capita currently in effect by the Grand Lodge of the State of Illinois…” Therefore our Lodge annual dues will increase six dollars ($6.00) to fifty-one dollars ($51.00) when the dues notices are mailed in November.

Further Light Lodge #1130 will again receive the Grand Master’s Award of Ecellence at the annual meeting of Grand Lodge on Oct. 6th and 7th, 2006.  Your lodge has earned this award every year since its inception in 1992.  One of the reasons is the lodge’s emphasis on charity work around the community.  Last year our lodge donated over $10,000 to worthy charities and needy brothers.

Be proud of your lodge, it is making a difference in the community.  Two years ago our lodge was recognized as the second most active lodge in the state according to the point system used to determine the Award of Excellence.

2007 Lodge dues will actually Decrease to $45.00. This is great news and is due to the hard work of the officer corps. Thanks to everyone who has paid their 2006 dues. For the few that have not paid their 2006 dues, the amount is $49.20.
